Tournament Finals, Teas, and an All Black this Sat. Sept 22nd

Its all set up to be a cracking afternoon of top tennis at RLTC this coming Saturday, with 5 Open Tournament Finals starting at 1pm, and currently scheduled to conclude with a mixed doubles final at 5pm.

Former All Black Xavier Rush will be presenting trophies at the end of the afternoon, and the famous RLTC Teas will be served at 4.30pm.

Watch this space for further details of bar opening times, an early evening bring your own BBQ, and the actual schedule of finals. It promises to be a memorable afternoon/evening.

Teas this Saturday September 8th

I'm very pleased to say that teas will again be available at RLTC this Saturday at 4.30pm. May I offer very grateful thanks to all who have volunteered to help the club by providing teas and of course to Liz for organising the rota.

The  Saturday teas have been a valued tradition at Radyr since well before my time, and it would be good to see them well supported for the rest of the season.

Welsh Junior Championship 2018 - RLTC successes

Hearty Congratulations to two of our junior members, Danny and Conor Flynn who have been competing in the Welsh Junior Championships this week with superb results.

Danny has won the Open Doubles with his partner Tiarnan Brady and he has also reached the Boys U18 and Open singles finals.

Conor continues to succeed and has reached the Boys U12 singles final.

This is the showpiece tournament in the Welsh Junior tennis calendar and the final matches are being played throughout Saturday (1st September) at Cardiff Castle LTC.

Coaching Update

Like any organisation, it's important that Radyr LTC constantly reviews what it offers. With the growth in our numbers, and with our on and off court facilities now being amongst the best in Wales, a sub committee representing all areas of the club looked at our coaching. As you can imagine it was a difficult meeting for all of us, as Drew has given much to the club, and on a personal level, we all like him a great deal.

Junior Week correct dates 22-28 July

Hello everyone

Just a quick email to say that the dates for Junior Week were incorrect in a previous email. The correct date for finals day is Saturday 28th July.
With the 8s (Red Ball), 9s (Orange Ball) and 10s (Green Ball), the finals day attendance is not so rigid. This means if you will be away for finals day, you can play the final on the day of the event. All junior finalists (year 6 and older) are expected to be there for finals day when the presentation will take place followed by the junior BBQ.
